The 2018 Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival, which was the Festival’s Tenth Anniversary, was a resounding success! Feedback received by the Committee from the Festival’s Event Partners and from the general public has been extremely positive and encouraging.

The Committee is already hard at work planning and preparing for next year’s Festival, which will once again be held over the Second Weekend in March — March 8-10, 2019.

We have already been approached by two large organisations in regards to potential new sponsorship opportunities. Alternative funding solutions, along with exisiting avenues of support, are been followed up as well.

There are new and exciting ideas been discussed for new events and activities to become part of the 2019 Festival, along with plenty of thoughts on how we can improve our already popular and successful events even further.

We already have a great leadership team in place, but, like all volunteer organisations, we always need more people to step forward to assist with planning and organisation of the Festival.

If you can spare even just an hour or so each week, we want to hear from you NOW!
There are plenty of little tasks that can be performed from the comfort of your home, or even the office, that will only take a few moments out of your week.

A few individuals have already stepped up to assist the Festival — a couple for specific tasks or roles, and others offering to help out where required. We’d love to see a team of 12-20 people coming together to lighten the load for everyone involved.

Developing Community Relationships

We will also be looking at further developing relationships with various local sporting clubs and community groups to see how our teams can work together to provide support and assistance to one another through out the year — if YOUR group is looking for mutual assistance, please contact Committee and we’ll happily discuss options that could benefit both groups.

We are especially keen to involve representatives from the smaller villages (Bethungra, Eurongilly, Illabo, Old Junee and Wantabadgery) that together, along with the township of Junee itself, form part of Junee Shire.

The 2018 Rhythm n Rail Festival saw Illabo Motorsports Park becoming an Event Partner and we look forward to continuing that partnership in 2019 and beyond… and would love to see a Festival Event (or more) been held in each of Junee Shire’s villages for the upcoming Festival.

Annual General Meeting

As an Incorporated Association, it is a legal requirement for us to hold an Annual General Meeting once a year to receive reports, elect the Committee and conduct any other business as required, so this will be held in May.

Don’t let that frighten you away — We encourage ALL financial members of Junee Rhythm and Rail Festival Incorporated to attend this meeting and have your say in the future direction of the Festival.

Planning Meetings

For the next couple of months, Committee will be hold Planning Meetings Every Tuesday Morning from 10:00am for an hour or so. Some of these meetings will have specific agendas or topics to cover, whilst others will be general discussions. ANYONE IS WELCOME TO ATTEND!

The Second Weekend in March each year sees the township of Junee, NSW transform into a hive of activity with thousands of visitors and local residents joining the celebrations of Junee’s unique rail heritage and to dance to the rhythm of the tracks. In 2014 the Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival was the winner of the NSW Inland Tourism “Community Festivals and Events” Award.
