The Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival was named the best community festival in Inland New South Wales at the Inland NSW Tourism Awards Gala Ceremony, which was held in Griffith on Saturday evening.
The NSW Trainlink Inland NSW Tourism Awards are held annually to acknowledge excellence in tourism in the four regional tourism areas of Central, Inland, Murray and Riverina. The Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival Committee is absolutely thrilled to have been awarded gold in the Community Festivals and Events category.
“The Junee Rhythm n Rail volunteer committee has worked hard over the past four years to make the Festival a fantastic experience for visitors, and to help put Junee on the map. To be acknowledged and awarded gold is such an honor and a privilege. We couldn’t be happier!” said Festival Chairman, Neil Smith.
“The competition was strong, with Boggabri Drivers Campfire and Wagga’s Regenerate Youth Festival also named finalists, but we did it! It just goes to show how rewarding hard work can be. We encourage everyone to join us in March 2015, and get sidetracked in Junee!” added Mr Smith.
The Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival was created by the community, is run by the community, showcases the community and most importantly, celebrates the community! Every March the Junee community comes together to deliver a Festival that has helped put their beloved town on the tourism map. The Festival wouldn’t be the success it is today without the ongoing support from local stakeholders, platinum partner Qube Logistics, support from Destination New South Wales, the festivals fantastic sponsors, dedicated volunteers, passionate committee and of course the patrons who attend!
“It is a privilege to step up for this good cause, and the Festival in Junee is building nicely due to all that is on show and available to ride!” stated Festival Patron Mr Tim Fischer AC.
