Track + Signal — Rhythm n Rail festival’s special guest

The May-July 2018 issue of Track + Signal magazine reported that former that former Deputy Prime Minister and avowed railway enthusiast Tim Fischer was in Junee to officially launch the 10th Anniversary of the Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival — an event of which he has been a long-term patron.

The article mentioned that the Festival had miniature train rides, rail-related displays, live music, informative talks and main line trips to Wagga Wagga and Cootamundra, as well as the historic railway roundhouse and museum were open over the Festival Weekend.

It also mentions that Mr Fischer visited Pete’s Hobby Railway and was invited by Mr Neve, the private railway owner, to have a ride in the cab of the fully steamed-up 1915-vintage locomotive.
