The Volunteer Rescue Association Junee Rescue Branch will be conducting a live demonstration of how the VRA volunteers extract persons from a crashed vehicle and render first aid practices.

The demonstration commences immediately after the Street Parade concludes, so make your way down Broadway to the Ex-Services Club car park to watch this interesting mock emergency scenerio and our local VRA Rescue Squad at work.

Cost: Free, but please give generously to the collection hats (buckets)

VRA Fundraiser — Easter Raffle

During the 2018 Junee Rhythm n Rail Festival, the VRA Junee Squad will be selling tickets for their major annual fundraiser — An Easter Raffle.

Tickets cost $2 each, or 3 for $5. They will be on sale over the Festival weekend at the following locations;

• Junee Bush Dance & BBQ Dinner, held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6pm in the Athenium Theatre on Broadway, Junee
• VRA Mock Emergency Demonstration, Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 12:00pm in the rear carpark of Junee the Ex-Services Memorial Club, Broadway
• Festival Markets in Memorial Park, Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
• Poet’s Breakfast, Broadway Museum, Junee; Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 8:00am to 10:00am

About the VRA Junee Rescue Squad

Established in 1975, the Junee Volunteer Rescue Association has been looking after the community for over 40 years. The Squad of highly trained personnel is the 1st Response Unit for Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA’s), Animals Rescues and has a dedicated Lighting Vehicle for emergency situations, along with assisting other emergency services when required.

The team of dedicated Volunteers also give up their time to assist Community groups with Traffic and Crowd Control, Support Vehicles for Fun Runs and Walks and much more. With the every increasing number of calls for assistance the cost of maintaining such an organisation is in the thousands per year, along with maintaining equipment, motor vehicles, training, insurances. The Rescue Association work endlessly and tirelessly to raise much needed funds to keep this Invaluable Service in our community.
